How can we help?

Answers about airport parking in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt – from booking and vehicle handover to your return.

Booking

How to find and book your parking.

How do I book airport parking with Friend-Park?

In three steps: enter your airport and travel dates on the home page, compare the offers by price, service and reviews, and complete the booking with your details. You immediately receive a confirmation email with your booking number, QR code and all handover details.

At which airports can I park with Friend-Park?

You can currently book parking with Friend-Park at these airports: Düsseldorf (DUS), Frankfurt (FRA). We are expanding all the time.

Do I need a customer account to book?

No, you can book as a guest without an account. With a free customer account you manage and change your bookings online, collect coins and get 100 coins as a welcome bonus.

How early should I book my parking?

You can book until shortly before departure as long as spaces are available. During school holidays and public holidays good offers go quickly – it’s best to book a few days, ideally weeks, in advance.

Which terms and conditions apply to my booking?

The parking service is governed by the terms of the respective parking provider; you find them on the provider page and accept them when booking. If a provider has no terms of its own, Friend-Park’s terms apply.

How does Friend-Park check reviews?

Only customers with a completed booking can submit Friend-Park reviews – we verify this using the booking number and email address. Google reviews are taken unchanged from the provider’s Google Business Profile; we do not verify their authenticity.

Payment & prices

Prices, payment methods, vouchers and coins.

How is the parking price calculated?

The price depends on the number of calendar days – arrival and departure day each count as a full day – and includes VAT. If a service fee applies for online payment or a surcharge applies (e.g. for a large vehicle, a handover outside opening hours or extra shuttle passengers), you see it in the booking summary before paying; the total price includes all mandatory costs.

How do I pay for my booking?

You pay online directly during the booking process. The payment is processed securely via our payment provider Stripe; the available payment methods are shown in the payment window. The final price shown already includes the service fee.

My online payment was interrupted – was I charged?

No. Your booking is only created once the payment has succeeded. If the payment is interrupted or you close the window, nothing is charged and no booking is created – simply book again.

My booking is not paid yet – is it still valid?

Online bookings are fully paid with the payment – there is nothing more to do. If you made a reservation with cash payment on site in the past, it remains valid: you pay the amount at vehicle handover as agreed.

How do I redeem a voucher code?

Enter the code in the “Voucher code” field of the booking form and click “Apply” – the discount immediately appears in the booking summary. With an account you also see your vouchers under “My vouchers”.

What are coins and how do I redeem them?

Coins are Friend-Park’s loyalty programme for customers with an account: you get 1 coin for every full euro of booking value, and 1 coin is worth 1 cent. You receive 100 coins when you register and more, for example, as a thank-you for a review; in the booking form you can redeem coins for up to 10% of the price.

Do I get an invoice?

Your booking confirmation contains all booking and price details. If you need an invoice, e.g. for your company, we are happy to email it to you – a short message with your booking number via the contact form is enough.

Changes & cancellation

Plans change – that’s fine.

Until when can I cancel free of charge?

You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the agreed vehicle handover. Later cancellation is not possible via the platform; the terms of the respective provider then apply – feel free to write to us and we will help.

How do I cancel my booking?

With an account: open the booking under “My bookings” and click “Cancel”. As a guest: open “Manage booking”, enter your email address and booking number, open the link from the email (valid for 72 hours) and cancel there.

Can I change my booking?

With an account you can change travel dates, vehicle, licence plate, flight details and extras yourself under “My bookings” up to 24 hours before arrival. As a guest you can view and cancel your booking; for changes, register with the same email address or write to us.

Do I have a 14-day right of withdrawal?

Usually not: for parking services booked for a fixed period there is generally no statutory right of withdrawal. However, you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before arrival.

Arrival & handover

Everything for a relaxed travel day.

I didn’t receive a booking confirmation – what should I do?

First check your spam or promotions folder. If the email isn’t there, request it again via “Resend confirmation” with your name, email address and travel date.

Do I need to print the booking confirmation?

No, usually it is enough to show the confirmation with booking number and QR code on your smartphone. Keep it handy at the vehicle handover.

Where exactly do I hand over my car?

The address and meeting point are in your booking confirmation. The provider page also shows the meeting points for shuttle and valet, the opening hours and the facilities of the parking area.

Do I need to contact the provider before I arrive?

Yes, please call the provider about 30 minutes before your booked handover time. The phone number is in your booking confirmation, so the team is ready when you arrive.

What happens at the vehicle handover?

The provider’s team briefly checks your booking and records the condition of your car with photos, mileage and your signature. This record protects you and the provider if questions about damage come up later.

Do I have to hand over my car key?

With valet parking yes, because the provider parks your car for you. With shuttle parking it depends on the provider – whether a key handover is required is shown in the facilities on the provider page and in the results list.

Can I park a large vehicle?

That depends on the provider. Many parking areas show the maximum length, height and width in the search and on the booking page. If an area accepts larger vehicles (e.g. vans or cars with a roof box), choose “My vehicle is larger” when booking – the surcharge is then included in the total price. Use the “Large vehicle / van” filter to see only suitable offers.

Can I drop off my car outside opening hours?

Only if the provider offers it – usually for a one-off surcharge shown before payment. The opening hours for your arrival and departure day are shown in the results list and on the booking page.

Shuttle & valet

Both parking types simply explained.

How does shuttle parking work?

You drive to the provider’s parking area, hand over or park your car there and the shuttle takes you to the terminal. After landing you call the number from your confirmation and the shuttle picks you up; how quickly depends on the provider and the time of day.

Does the shuttle cost extra for several people?

That is set by the provider. Often the first passengers are included in the price and from a certain number each additional person costs a fixed amount – you see this in the results list, enter the number of people when booking and the price is calculated automatically.

How does valet parking work?

You drive straight to the agreed meeting point at the terminal and hand over your car and key to the provider’s team, who drives it to the parking area. When you return, you get your car back at the terminal – no shuttle, no walking.

Which suits me better – shuttle or valet?

Shuttle parking is usually cheaper but includes a short transfer to the terminal. Valet parking is more convenient and saves time, especially with children, lots of luggage or a tight schedule. Our guide compares both options for Düsseldorf and Frankfurt in detail.

Can I add refuelling, charging or a car wash?

Yes, if the provider offers it: you choose refuelling, EV charging and care packages directly in the booking form. What a provider offers and what it costs is shown in the results list.

Help with problems

Flight delayed, provider unreachable, damage – what now?

I’m stuck in traffic or late for the handover – what should I do?

Call the provider as early as possible; the number is in your booking confirmation. Some providers charge a fee if you arrive late without letting them know – a quick call usually avoids this.

My return flight is delayed – do I need to do anything?

Yes, inform the provider as soon as you know about the delay so the shuttle or valet can adjust. If you return on a later day, the extra days are usually charged at the daily rate.

My flight was cancelled – what happens to my parking booking?

Up to 24 hours before your booked arrival you can cancel free of charge yourself. If you find out at shorter notice, the cancellation terms apply – but write to us immediately with your booking number so we can look for a solution with the provider.

I can’t reach the provider – what now?

Try again after a few minutes using the number from your confirmation. If that still doesn’t work, write to us via the contact form with your booking number – we will contact the provider.

I noticed damage to my car – what should I do?

Report the damage as soon as possible at the return, while still on site with the provider, and take photos. Because the condition was documented with photos at handover, it can easily be compared; your contact is the provider, and we are happy to support you with your booking number.

I left something in my car – how do I get it?

Call the provider, ideally before you fly. The phone number is in your booking confirmation.

I entered something wrong when booking – what now?

With an account you can correct licence plate, vehicle, flight details or travel dates yourself up to 24 hours before arrival. As a guest, write to us with your booking number and the correct details – we will take care of it.
